About Jim and Jeanne Caverly

Jim’s Goal: “Start at the Pacific in May 2012 and end at the Atlantic on my 70th birthday in October, to Raise Awareness and Funds for C.O.P.S.! This trip is the fulfillment of a lifelong dream. Doing it for C.O.P.S. and the hundreds of survivors we’ve worked with over the past 22 years, makes it even more special!”

Jeanne’s Goal: “Make sure the ‘ole man’ makes it across the country!” “I’ll be driving the truck pulling the camper and meeting up with him at the end of the day.”

Jim:  Retired after 27-yr Law Enforcement Career as FBI Special Agent; started his career as a Probation Officer for 6 yrs in Northampton County, PA; CISM Trainer. Graduated from East Stroudsburg University (ESU) in PA. Grew up in Alden, PA – a little town in the Nanticoke-Wilkes-Barre area of northeast PA.

Jim is a member of:  FBIAA, SOFSAFBI, The National Academy, Eagles, Elks, Escapees, Good Sam, Passport America, YMCA, ICISF (International Critical Incident Stress Foundation), Rails-to-Trails, and Adventure Cycling.

Jim and Jeanne: married 40 years on June 24, 2012. We have three adult children – son Brian is a sculptor in NYC; son Patrick owns Caverly’s Custom Concrete in Ballston Lake, NY; our adopted Native American daughter Linda lives in Amsterdam NY. We have been fulltime RVers since 2007, traveling the USA in our 27′ Arctic Fox Travel Trailer and Dodge Ram 3500 Diesel Pickup with our mini-poodle rescue Sandy!

Over the past 22 years, Jim and Jeanne have worked directly with hundreds of surviving family members and co-workers after line-of-duty death. We have witnessed first-hand the wonderful benefits of the C.O.P.S. programs and the difference these programs make in the lives of surviving family members and affected co-workers with the officer’s department.

Jim and Jeanne have been involved with Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.) since 1990 as Grief Counselors for several C.O.P.S. programs, including:

  • National Police Week Conference & C.O.P.S. KIDS
  • Parents’ Retreats
  • Spouses’ Retreats
  • Siblings’ Retreats
